Officials of the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) have commended Ikirun College of Health Technology for its commitment to quality healthcare education following an assessment visit to the institution aimed at evaluating its compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
The assessment team, led by the Zonal Officer for Osun and Ogun States from the South-West Office of the Board, Mr. Pele, visited the college to inspect its instructional facilities, academic resources, manpower, and overall learning environment as part of the Board's mandate to ensure quality training of community health practitioners.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Pele said the exercise was designed to assess the institution's capacity to deliver quality education in line with the standards prescribed by the Board and the expectations of the healthcare sector.
He lauded vision of the institution and its efforts toward maintaining an environment conducive to effective teaching and learning, noting that regular assessments help strengthen healthcare education and safeguard professional standards.
"The Board is committed to ensuring that institutions responsible for training healthcare professionals maintain the required standards necessary for producing competent practitioners who can meet the healthcare needs of Nigerians," he said.
Earlier, the Rector, Mr. Salaudeen Oyewale, welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the institution's commitment to producing skilled, knowledgeable, and ethically responsible healthcare workers.
According to him, the college has continued to invest in quality teaching, practical training, and infrastructural development to ensure students receive the knowledge and competencies required for professional practice.
Mr. Oyewale described the visit as an important aspect of quality assurance and institutional development, stressing that the college remains dedicated to complying with all regulatory requirements and improving its academic offerings.
"We appreciate the Board's continuous support and guidance. Your assessment helps institutions identify areas for improvement and strengthen their capacity to produce healthcare professionals capable of contributing meaningfully to the nation's healthcare system," he said.
The assessment exercise featured inspections of classrooms, laboratories, library facilities, and other academic resources, as well as interactions with members of the institution's management and academic staff.
The visit underscores the collaborative efforts between regulatory bodies and health training institutions to enhance the quality of healthcare education and strengthen the capacity of Nigeria's healthcare workforce.
